The Lifecore CD500 elliptical is an award-winning compact and highly adjustable machine which incorporates several interesting innovations. First of all, the drive: standard ellipticals use a rear or front drive with which the user’s weight is forced either forwards or to the back. In the CD500, CD stands for center drive a position which balances the user’s weight comfortably in the center – a much more natural position. Other ellipticals have a wider space between the pedals but at 2” the CD500 pedals are more akin to a natural stride. This is not only more comfortable but is better for alignment of the hip and pelvisVisit our friends at Lifecore Store to learn more about the Lifecore CD500 Elliptical.
Adjustable Stride Length
The choice of programs is varied enough to ensure that there is something to suit everyone too from the manually set lap track to the mounting pressure of the Glute Blaster and interval training programs like Mountain Interval and Speed Interval. According to the American Health Association, maximum cardiovascular benefits are achieved by working out at a target heart rate of between 60 to 75% of your maximum heart rate.
Maximum heart rate is roughly calculated by subtracting your age from 220. Having worked out your maximum heart rate you can then select from the CD500’s five heart rate programs which are Target Heart Rate, Heart rate Cardio, Heart Rate Fat Burn, Heart Rate Hill and Heart Rate Interval. This elliptical trainer ships with a heart rate chest strap which signals a built-in receiver on the console to enable accurate read out of your heart rate at any time.
2 User Profiles
The Lifecore CD500 Elliptical enables the saving of two custom profile courses which include time, weight and age settings and are saved between uses and there are 20 levels of resistance to work through.
Fits in Small Spaces
The CD500 is a compact machine with a footprint only 42” long and a width of 31”. This is quite remarkable considering that the CD500 has a guardrail on either side which certainly gives the user a sense of security but it also makes the machine very stable and durable. It has next to no ‘wobble’ unlike most other machines in the same bracket. To further maximise the space-friendliness of the CD500 the designers gave it a short step-up. At only 8” this makes it possible to use the machine comfortably in rooms with low ceiling clearance. To quickly figure out if this machine will fit in your room with a low ceiling, add the height (with running shoes firmly in place) to the step-up height of 8" and this would be the point where you're head will be scraping the ceiling. Give yourself another 6" if possible or you could really be feeling cramped for room. Average room heights are absolutely no problem for this great machine.
Delivery and Installation
This merchant chooses freight companies based on track record for safe delivery and not cheapest price for them. Sure most elliptical companies offer free shipping, but if they use a cut rate shipper that damages your machine on the way to you, that sucks. The CD500 arrives at your curb packed securely and for you to assemble. While assembly of an elliptical machine may seem daunting at first it is actually quite straight forward and all LifeCORE products come with a detailed Owner’s Manual with a clear and illustrated assembly guide. Assembly is broken out in 3 areas - lower section, handrails and console. A few bolts in the right places and you're good to get working out in no time.
The LifeCORE Ellipticals warranty is about the best in the fitness industry. It includes a lifetime cover on the frame and 5 years for parts and one year on labor. The warranty is transferable. So overall, be good to your joints. Bid the old Aerobics videos a fond goodbye and treat yourself to a Lifecore CD500 elliptical trainer. Your knees will thank you.
