The Smooth CE 7.4  Elliptical is definitely build to take some abuse. The longer and wider stance plants the machine firmly in place while you're kicking some butt at level 9. Further increasing the feel of stability the overall weight of the machine is substantial and weighs in at just over 200 pounds. Big size great for stability – not so great if you live on the third floor of a New York City walkup. Curbside delivery is included with your purchase price (as of the writing of this review) and you may want to upgrade to the In-room or white glove delivery. Spending a few extra bucks might be the way to go on this one.

Built-in Training Programs - This Elliptical trainer comes with with the flexibility of 8 different programs. Many elliptical training machines seem to get carried away with competing on the number of programs each has. I think you'll find the Smooth CE 7.4 built in programs to be very effective at kicking your butt. The primary control panel lacks a bit on the flashy gadget front that you'll find on comparably priced Elliptical Trainers. It reminds me of the bulletproof fitness equipment we used to see down at the gym about 10 years ago. All of the function buttons are large and feel durable.

Elliptical Trainer Resistance Levels - As for resistance levels offered on the Smooth 7.4 Elliptical, owners give this mixed reviews. Some people are quite dissatisfied with the 16 resistance levels available in this machine. The level of resistance provided, even at the maximum level, is not enough to meet the needs of some people. We’re guessing these kinds of feedback are from people who are hardcore exercise machines in human form who probably exercise more than they sleep or eat. It is safe to say that the performance of this CE 7.4 elliptical trainer when it comes to resistance is subjective.

Pivoting Foot Pads - Perhaps one of this elliptical trainer’s bragging rights lie on its ergonomic pivoting foot pedal and well situated handle bars. Heartrate monitors are integrated into the end of each of the moving handles. The pivoting foot rests on this elliptical trainer help provide a smooth transition and help to reduce the “numb leg” feeling that you may have experienced with other machines. 

Price Point for the CE 7.4 Elliptical – The average pricepoint for the Smooth CE 7.4 Elliptical appears to stick close to the $1499 mark. This elliptical offers a solid choice from a great fitness company that's known for building quality products.
